GYSBI Achieves safety Milestone at Wale GTE Project
GYSBI’s General Manager, Robert Albiez, and other members of the company recently joined our Gas to Energy team to celebrate a significant milestone: 365 days, or one year, without any Lost Time Injuries (LTI) at the project site in Wales, West Bank Demerara. LTIs refer to injuries sustained on the job that result in the loss of productive work time, including both temporary injuries that keep employees away from work and permanent disabilities that prevent them from returning to their regular duties.
GYSBI has been executing Earth, Soil Remediation, and Surcharge works at the site for LINDSAYCA CH4. This company was hired by the Government of Guyana to construct an integrated Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) extraction plant and a 300 MW power generation facility at the site.
Before this engagement with LINDSAYCA CH4, GYSBI was entrusted by ExxonMobil Guyana with the Early Works and Heavy Haul Road projects in the area. This involved constructing five bridges, an access road, a heavy haul road, and the initial site preparation for the Integrated Plant Site.
To commemorate this achievement, a small but meaningful ceremony was held, during which several staff members were also recognized and awarded for their exceptional service and commitment to going above and beyond the call of duty.
